About Us

A place to practice seeing.

The VCHS Photography Club empowers students to develop their photographic skills, express their creativity, and serve the community through visual storytelling.

History

Growing from campus work into community service.

The club brings students together to learn technique, share critique, and document school life. As membership has grown, the club has expanded into community projects, shared equipment access, and public portfolios so student work has somewhere to live.

Members collaborate with school partners and local organizations to apply photography to meaningful projects, build portfolios, and gain real-world experience.

Mission

Impact through photographs.

Our mission is to make an impact on the community through photography. We strive for impact by reaching out to organizations and providing free photoshoots when approved and available. We aim to make photography more accessible by sharing equipment and opportunities with students who may not have access to professional-grade gear.

Equip Students

Provide shared access to quality camera bodies, lenses, lighting, and accessories. Reduce equipment barriers and help members develop technical, artistic, and professional skills.

Serve the Community

Offer photography for nonprofits, job seekers, community events, and arts organizations. Use photography to tell meaningful stories and document community impact.

Develop Young Photographers

Showcase student work through individual portfolios, connect photographers with clients and projects, and encourage collaboration, mentorship, and creative growth.

Student development

Learning by making.

Members learn through practice, collaboration, portfolio development, equipment sharing, and approved real-world projects. Phones, borrowed cameras, and personal gear are all welcome. No previous experience is required.

Leadership
